We all face challenges in life. But I want to remind you, everything that we need in this world is already within us. When we are met with challenges, I encourage you to remember the following four words...
That which does not kill us makes us stronger. (Friedrich Nietzsche)
We have all probably heard that quote at one time or another. Strength is more than just physical ability. It's found inside of every single one of us. Strength is the ability to climb past walls and obstacles that may appear on your path. It's that inner life force that keeps us going when we feel drained and our minds and hearts grow tired. It's that voice inside that tells us to keep pushing even when we feel like we can't take one more step.
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Courage exists deep within us. It is a weapon that grows through daring; when you allow yourself to step outside your comfort zone you grow in self-reliance and strength. Courage is an element of inner confidence that we can build every day, whether it is opening up and sharing your feelings with someone close to you or speaking to a stranger for the first time.
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. (Socrates)
Real wisdom isn't knowing more than another person, or thinking that you know it all. It's about knowing that there is a new opportunity to learn every day. It's learning from our mistakes and making adjustments, and realizing that the past is the past and that we have only this moment in which to live.
The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart. (Buddha)
Follow your heart. Within it is the spark you need that leads you to pursue fulfillment and happiness in life, relationships, and in our creative endeavors. Fighting with our heart is about fighting with compassion and energy for the things and people that matter most to us in this world. The heart sees what's invisible to our eyes. It reveals love and companionship in our lives, no matter what else is happening around us. It is important to trust our hearts.
Strength, courage, wisdom, heart.
These are four weapons, along with many others, that already exist within us. We just have to look inside and find them.
